ASA February General Luncheon
Join fellow ASA Members for the February General Luncheon on Thursday, February 15th! Our featured speaker will be Adam Robertson, with Andrews Myers, P.C. Adam will provide important information about change orders which can expose subcontractors to liabilities, as well as discuss prompt payments, and the effects of House Bill 3485 (restricts owners' ability to issue unilateral change orders on Texas projects).

Schmooze and Mingle with Teal Construction
Get ready to mix and mingle with Teal Construction! The February 22nd Schmooze and Mingle will provide ASA Members with the opportunity to meet with key leaders from Teal Construction and learn about current and future project opportunities for subcontractors. This event is free to ASA members but you must register by February 21st. Don’t let this opportunity to work with Teal Construction pass you by!
Frontline Supervisor Training Coming Up!
Register your up-and-coming leaders in the field for the Frontline Supervisor class, instructed by ASA Member D. Samuels & Associates. On February 29th and March 1st, students will be guided through the Frontline Supervisor modules including supervisory roles, effective communication, safety, contract documents, planning and scheduling, plus, students will participate in an interactive project simulation! If you have employees who are ready to become effective leaders on the jobsite, this is the course for them.
Schmooze and Mingle with Satterfield and Pontikes
Join fellow ASA Members on Thursday, February 29th for a Schmooze and Mingle happy hour with Satterfield and Pontikes at Kirby Ice House – Memorial location! Representatives will be on hand to meet with members and discuss current and upcoming projects, as well as opportunities to partner with them as a subcontractor. We’ll see you there!
ASA Houston Supports CIEF Design Build Competition
ASA Houston is happy to support the CIEF Design Build Competition being held March 27-28 at Lone Star College. The CIEF Design Build Competition promotes career awareness of the construction industry among high school students through hands-on experience in the construction process and a first-hand look at future opportunities in the industry. The competition also allows the construction industry to support, partner with, and mentor schools, students, and career technical education programs. Each participating team is challenged to design, plan, and construct a 96-sq. ft. structure that meets a set of criteria established under the advisement of industry professionals. Teams compete at NO COST to any student or school through donations, sponsorships, and grants. Here are just a few ways you can help!
Judging Opportunities we are seeking industry leaders to come out and judge.
Donate Materials we are still seeking donations of a crane to help with the structure removal process, lumber, generators, and forklifts.
Become a team sponsor sponsor a team that is participating in the design build competition.
Become an event sponsor help underwrite the event for the students! See flyer attached of the various levels and benefits.
Attend the industry lunch on March 28th at Lone Star College from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm come out to cheer on the students and celebrate student success.
