Donated water tanks installed across Harcourt The Reece Foundation, with support from BlazeAid, are working with volunteer tradies to install water tanks for people in need. The project will install 70 tanks across the country, with 17 going to fire-affected Harcourt residents. Grateful resident David Jeffries, pictured above, said he was overwhelmed by the kindness shown by the Reece team and their volunteers. Thanks to BlazeAid's Russ Henderson for running the camp kitchen to feed the crews all week. Employment opportunity: The Community Recovery Coordinator will be Harcourt & District Community Recovery Association's principal employee, helping turn community priorities and ideas into practical, funded and measurable outcomes. The role combines community development and recovery leadership with practical project coordination and organisational support. Applications close Monday 5 October. Harcourt Castlemaine Learn how to support those affected by emergency events Introduction to Personal Support for Community Leaders is a session about supporting and facilitating self-recovery following an emergency. Summer Preparedness Event Series As we prepare for the warmer months ahead, our Bushfire Recovery Team is launching the Summer Preparedness Event Series, a new program of free community events designed to help residents build knowledge, confidence and preparedness for emergencies and other summer challenges. The series will provide practical information, local advice and opportunities to connect with organisations that support our community before, during and after emergencies. Who Does What During an Emergency? Our first event in the Summer Preparedness Event Series is an Emergency Services Panel: Who Does What During an Emergency? When emergencies happen, it can be difficult to know which agency is responsible for what, where to find reliable information, and what support may be available to you before, during, and after an emergency. Join us for this free community information session featuring representatives from a range of emergency services, government agencies, and community organisations. Through a facilitated panel discussion, you'll hear directly from the people involved in emergency response, relief, and recovery across our region. When: Thursday 15 October, 10am-2pm Harcourt Progress Association Annual General Meeting Join HPA's Annual General Meeting. When: Thursday 29 October, 7.00pm Please note: Only financial members have voting rights at the meeting and must have paid their dues 14 business days prior to the advertised meeting date (15 October 2026). The Great Victorian Bike ride is coming to Harcourt! This November, thousands of riders will cycle through Harcourt, Castlemaine and the Goldfields region. This is a great opportunity for local businesses, community groups and residents to get involved, welcome riders and make the most of the visitors coming to the region.
