Dear colleagues and friends, Summer is here, and with it comes that special time when thousands of newly graduated musicians, music educators, and other graduates step out to bring their talents, passion, and teaching skills to the world — enriching both the music scene and all our lives. We congratulate all of them and wish them the very best! Summertime is also a moment to pause and reflect. I hope you’ll take some time to truly enjoy all that you’ve achieved and to find new energy for the next chapter after the holidays. At AEC, we too are looking forward to the summer holidays, but our thoughts are also with those of our members who find themselves in the midst of conflicts, attacks on artistic freedom, budget cuts and other challenges. These developments are cause for concern, but we support our members as best we can and are deeply impressed by the strength and resilience that working with music and students continues to unlock. It gives us comfort and hope. On behalf of the whole AEC team, I wish you a wonderful summer - full of meaningful moments, relaxation, and time with the people who matter most to you. Best wishes, Finn Schumacker, Executive Director Artistic freedom and cultural diversity are essential principles for our society, and for AEC, they are important cornerstones in our work to advance higher music education.
