Saturday Edition
Hey, hey! It’s Saturday, and we hope you’re all feeling fantastic today. But if you ask us, we’re feeling a bit sad. We have a difficult announcement to make, and it’s not something we ever thought we’d have to say. You see, this is going to be our last newsletter, ever. We know, we know, it’s tough to hear and even more heartbreaking to write. Remember those pesky deliverability issues we’ve been having? Well, it turns out they were more serious than we thought, and it’s just not feasible for us to continue…
We know this news may come as a shock, and we will truly miss sending our newsletters to you. We’ve grown so accustomed to sending you our daily dose of news and entertainment, and we’re sure you’ve grown to love them just as much. But as the old saying goes, all good things must come to an end.
HA! Oh, we got you there, didn’t we? It’s April Fools’ Day today, and we couldn’t help but have a little fun. We know, we know, we are absolute rascals, but isn’t that why you love us? 😉 Yes, you read that correctly. We’re not going anywhere! The Seniors Discount Club will continue to send your beloved daily newsletters! We hope you got a good chuckle from our little joke and we didn’t scare you too much. We promise to continue delivering the best content we can. Happy April Fools’ Day, members! Remember: You’re never too old to have a bit of fun, folks.
Now, let's see what we have in store for you today. We have a lot of great things planned (no more bad jokes, we promise), so sit back, relax, and enjoy!
First up, we have the answer to yesterday’s riddle. So what was it again?
Five apples are in a basket. How do you divide them among five girls so that each girl gets an apple, but one apple remains in the basket?
We thought this one would have you all stumped! But of course, once again, you have proved us wrong. The answer is giving each of the four girls one apple and giving the fifth girl the basket with the apple in it! Look at you, being all clever! If you managed to get the answer correct, head further down in the email, and you’ll spot a shout-out just for you!
Now, onto our next segment for the day, ‘What Would the Grandkids Say.’ Today, we are taking a look at the term 'TLDR' or 'Too Long; Didn't Read.' This term is used in response to an online post or text that is excessively long and requires too much effort to read. In other words, it's just too long, and people won't bother reading it. To avoid getting this comment, social media users provide a summary of the long post or text for those who don’t want to read the whole thing. It's usually taken as a ‘rude’ comment, and you know we don't condone rudeness around here. So next time your grandkids use TLDR, tell them to be more
considerate or maybe just encourage them to read more! 😉
Oh, and before we get to the stories, have you heard about our latest game? That’s right, we just launched the SDC Bingo, and it’s time to join in on the fun! To play, all you need is an account at the forum, so if you don’t have one already, register here. Jonathan has provided instructions on how to play here. Today’s bingo numbers are I30, G52, and N35.
Lastly, we just wanted to warn you about a scam that has reared its ugly head once again. We recently received reports that Seniors Discount - Coupon65 has scammed yet another member of our community. We’re deeply saddened to hear about this, and we want to make sure that all of you are aware of this cruel scam. We can’t stress enough how important it is to remain vigilant and cautious when it comes to online deals and offers. Please click here to learn more about this scam and how to protect yourself and your loved ones.
