University Challenge x Intercollege Quiz Competition 💭Have you got what it takes to represent Lancaster in next year’s BBC University Challenge competition? Could you help to earn your college the ultimate quizzing crown? We’re embarking on our annual search for a top team of competitive quizzers to represent Lancaster in the BBC University Challenge televised competition. This year, applicants will also be automatically entered into the selection process for the nine colleges Intercollegiate Quiz Competition taking place on campus. Remembrance Day ServiceOn Monday 11th November, from 10:40AM, Lancaster University Students’ Union, alongside Lancaster University, will hold a Remembrance Day Service in memory of those who have lost their lives in conflict. Join us and fellow students in Alexandra Square on the day as we pay respects. Reach RespectPresented by Women’s Aid, Reach Respect is your opportunity to take a stand against domestic abuse. The programme aims to provide university students with free training sessions in order to develop the skills needed to recognise the signs of domestic abuse, as well as be a safe, active bystander. Introducing LUSU's Annual Report ✨Published every year, the Annual Report is an annual summary of all the ways your students’ union has made an impact for the benefit of its members. And our report for the year 2023/24 is now available to read online. The report spans LUSU’s financial year from 1st August 2023 to 31 July 2024 and picks out some of the biggest highlights across LUSU’s many services and activities. You can find the report below. A successful rep conference 📝On Saturday, over 100 members of the Academic Rep Community came together for Rep Conference 2024. The conference was a huge success, with your Education Officer, Harrison Stewart, opening the conference alongside Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) Wendy Robinson. It takes place every Thursday night of term in Marketplace – but places are limited and pre-registration is essential. Grab your Supper Club entry card from the LUSU reception desk any time during office hours (10am-5pm), then head down to Marketplace between 5-7pm on Thursday. |
