On Halloween, terror took over Lancaster. And Sugar found itself haunted! By Marios, Harley Quinn’s, and the occasional Minion. Was that the Mothman we saw at one point?

The night was an absolute blast – and completely sold out! In celebration of you guys selling out every ticket, we brought some more fun to Sugar for the night, including performers, and plenty of freebies!

International Students' Fair 🌎

Hosted by your International Students’ Forum, the International Students’ Fair is a unique opportunity to connect with students from around the globe, explore cultures, and learn more about the services and resources available to international students here at Lancaster University. 

Everyone is welcome, international student or not, so join us on Friday 15th November, from 12:00PM till 4:00PM in the Great Hall, and discover the world at your doorstep! 

University Challenge x Intercollege Quiz Competition 💭

Have you got what it takes to represent Lancaster in next year’s BBC University Challenge competition? Could you help to earn your college the ultimate quizzing crown?

We’re embarking on our annual search for a top team of competitive quizzers to represent Lancaster in the BBC University Challenge televised competition. This year, applicants will also be automatically entered into the selection process for the nine colleges Intercollegiate Quiz Competition taking place on campus. 

Individual entry tests begin next Tuesday 12th November, in the Minor Hall. You can check the rest of the dates in our article.

Remembrance Day Service 

On Monday 11th November, from 10:40AM, Lancaster University Students’ Union, alongside Lancaster University, will hold a Remembrance Day Service in memory of those who have lost their lives in conflict. 

Join us and fellow students in Alexandra Square on the day as we pay respects. 
 

Reach Respect

Presented by Women’s Aid, Reach Respect is your opportunity to take a stand against domestic abuse. 

The programme aims to provide university students with free training sessions in order to develop the skills needed to recognise the signs of domestic abuse, as well as be a safe, active bystander. 

On Tuesday 12th November, Women’s Aid will be hosting a group of three training sessions at Lancaster University: 

10:30AM – 12:00PM 
12:30PM – 2:00PM 
2:30PM – 4:00PM

Introducing LUSU's Annual Report ✨

Published every year, the Annual Report is an annual summary of all the ways your students’ union has made an impact for the benefit of its members. 

And our report for the year 2023/24 is now available to read online. The report spans LUSU’s financial year from 1st August 2023 to 31 July 2024 and picks out some of the biggest highlights across LUSU’s many services and activities.

A successful rep conference 📝

On Saturday, over 100 members of the Academic Rep Community came together for Rep Conference 2024.

The conference was a huge success, with your Education Officer, Harrison Stewart, opening the conference alongside Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) Wendy Robinson. You can read more about how the conference went down over on Harrison’s article about the event.

Lucky for you, we’ve got just the solution: LUSU’s Style & Swap is officially permanent! 

Open from 10AM – 4PM, Mondays to Fridays in LUSU, you can now bring your own pre-loved costumes to the Swap & Style at our Welcome Desk. Pop them into the box and explore the racks for a new costume for your next big party!

Supper Club 🥗

Supper Club is back this term, in collaboration with the university – Supper Club offers you a free hot meal to get you through. It takes place every Thursday night of term in Marketplace – but places are limited and pre-registration is essential.

Grab your Supper Club entry card from the LUSU reception desk any time during office hours (10am-5pm), then head down to Marketplace between 5-7pm on Thursday.
