Thursday Edition
Good morning members! A pinch and a punch for the first day of the month! Whew! We can’t believe it’s July already–time really does fly when you’re having fun, eh? Speaking of fun, let’s get on with today’s show!
First things first, it’s time to give you all the answer to yesterday’s tough riddle. For those of you who don’t remember, the riddle goes:
I am a 5-letter word. Take away the first letter, and I am a place’s name. Take away the first two letters, and I become the opposite of the 5 letter word. What (or hint hint: Who) am I?
Did you get it? The answer is woman! Why? If you remove the first letter, you get Oman. If you remove the first two letters, you get the opposite of a woman, which is a man. A good one, eh? If you got this one correct, stick around, and you’ll find your well-deserved shoutout at the end of the newsletter.
Next on the agenda for today, it’s time to share with you a Fascinating Fact!
Did you know that the longest recorded lifespan of a cat is 38 years? The average lifespan of an indoor cat is about 15 years, while an outdoor cat has an average lifespan of two to five years. However, some cats have been known to live much longer than that. The oldest cat on record was 'Creme Puff', who was born on August 3, 1967, and lived until August 6, 2005. That’s an impressive 38 years and 3 days! Creme Puff even made it into the Guinness World Records. Amazing, right?

Remember the days when you got paid in cash on payday? When the "pays" were ready, we would all line up to get our little brown envelopes with money inside. Nowadays, payday comes and goes. The money is deposited into the bank; you never see or touch it; it is simply a few figures printed on a bank statement. However, getting paid in cash on payday is an entirely different story. Somehow a dog gets lost in an African jungle.
As he is finding his way, a lion spots him. The lion thinks since the dog is so small, he will be easy prey.
When the dog sees the lion, he gets extremely scared and starts to run, but he sees some bones and gets an idea. As the lion approaches he says, “Mmmm, that was some good lion.”
Ahahaha, this one is a goodie! A big thank you to member @Fisherman2320 for sharing this with us. Check the rest of this hilarious joke here.

Coal miners face many constant dangers: cave-ins, explosions, fires, and dangerous gases like carbon monoxide. But canaries, it turns out, are much more sensitive to carbon monoxide and other poisonous gases than humans. Around 1911, miners started carrying canaries into the mines with them, and they quickly became a metaphor for warning signs – when the canary keels over, it’s time to evacuate the mine before you become the next victim.
