She Builds It: Archery, Pistols, & Rifles - Oh, My!
Join the She Builds It Peer Group for a fun afternoon of world class shooting! From archery and firearm instruction for the beginners, to rifle, pistol and archery bays for the advanced – this event will be a BLAST for all ASA Members! What a great opportunity to gain valuable marksmanship skills while networking with fellow ASA members. This event is open to all men and women, so grab your buddy and make plans to attend. ASA General Luncheon – Houston Construction Market Update featuring Pat Kiley
Back by popular demand is everyone’s favorite construction industry guru – Pat Kiley! Pat has been an integral part of the industry for decades and has extensive knowledge of trends and access to industry forecasts. He will share his knowledge so you can be prepared for what the economy and industry hold in the near- and long-term future.
This luncheon will benefit the Construction Industry Education Foundation – Houston Chapter!

Excellence In Construction Awards
We are rolling out the red carpet to recognize general contractors who help shape our built environment and manage the projects that we build! We are glamming it up, 1940’s Hollywood style because, after all, we are in the golden age of construction! Join us on the red carpet as we unveil the legends of industry, nominated and voted on by ASA subcontractors. Sponsorships are available!

Brianna Built It! Holiday Fundraiser Breaks Record
On Thursday, November 30, 2023, 73 representatives from 27 different member companies braved the horrible weather and came together for our annual Brianna Built It! Holiday Happy Hour and Fundraiser. In honor of our former executive director, we have carried on the tradition of raising money to surprise ASA families in need during the holiday season. This year, despite the low attendance numbers, we raised $11,000 – breaking last year’s record of $6,830!
Thanks to all the donations, 8 ASA families will receive over $1,300 each! It is our hope that it helps them to rest a little bit easier this holiday season.
November General Luncheon
ASA members and Block Companies representatives joined together in November to discuss opportunities to work with Block Companies. Members had the opportunity to learn about Block’s extensive multifamily portfolio as well as their support of the MWSBE and Section 3 contractor communities.
BLDG Community Service Project with 4B Disaster Response Network
In honor of Veterans Day, the BLDG committee worked with 4B Disaster Response Network on 2 projects - one supporting a Vietnam Veteran, the other supporting 4B's operations center build-out which will not only serve as temporary housing during disasters but will also assist homeless veterans in transition. We are so appreciative of the volunteers who took time out of their day to help this deserving charity!
