Welcome back to another year at the Balwyn Community Centre! We hope you had a happy and relaxing break. Term 1 begins on 27th January and we're looking forward to starting some new courses, including Canasta, Tai Chi for Falls Prevention, Fitness Bootcamp and a Crafternoon! We're ready to kick off an amazing year of learning and look forward to you joining us!
Step & Connect Walking GroupJoin our new walking group for a fun, relaxed way to stay active. Enjoy fresh air, gentle exercise, and great company along the way. The walk begins at the Balwyn Community Centre and will last approx 1 hour. Return to the Centre for a cup of tea/coffee and a chat following your walk. Wednesdays 9.00am - 10.30am from 4 February
Beginner LanguagesStart your language journey in 2026! We have new classes for beginners in German, French and Italian. These classes are suitable for the complete beginner with no language experience and are a fun and engaging way to start learning a new language.
Discover MandarinDiscover Mandarin is an engaging journey into Chinese language and culture. Practice everyday conversations, dive into cultural films, pick up useful travel phrases for China and Taiwan, and enjoy hands-on cooking sessions while learning authentic dining etiquette. Mondays 12.30pm - 2.30pm from 2 February
PastelsIn this course you will learn simple pastel techniques and build your skills each week. Led by Joyce – a passionate artist with formal fine arts training – this class is perfect for beginners looking to build confidence and creative skills. Monday 1.00pm – 3.00pm from 2 February
Mums and Bubs YogaA fun class for Mums to attend with their bubs and enjoy the many benefits of authentic, holistic yoga sessions. Suitable for mums with bubs from 6 weeks to 6 months (before crawling stage) Wednesday 11.00am – 12:00pm from 28 January
Adult Karate Classes at BCCDiscover the power of traditional karate with new adult classes every Monday evening from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm during school terms. Delivered by a respected karate organisation and led by Certified Master Karate Instructors, these adult-only classes take place in a welcoming, supportive environment. Age is no barrier - whether you’re just starting out or returning with previous experience, you’ll have the opportunity to strengthen both body and mind resilience, develop confidence and discipline, and learn practical self-defence skills.
