Houston Methodist Sugar Land will be raising money for MOD through the month of April. ![]() ![]() Ramadan Begins April 2At sundown on or around April 2, our Muslim colleagues will begin observing the holy season of Ramadan. From sunup to sundown each day they fast from food and beverages, including water. It is a time for purification of the body, mind, and spirit. Ramadan is also a season of charity and generosity toward neighbors. On May 1 at sundown, they will break their month of fasting on the last day of Ramadan, called Eid al-Fitr. Transgender Day of VisibilityMarch 31 is International Transgender Day of Visibility. This day celebrates the transgender community and raises awareness of discrimination they face. Houston Methodist is proud to support the LGBTQ+ community, and stands for diversity, equity, and inclusion. As an organization, Houston Methodist continues to closely monitor our IT systems. We are also reminding everyone to be mindful of potential threats. When it comes to cybersecurity, we all play a role in keeping our patient and Houston Methodist data secure. Click here for tips on staying cyber safe, along with other news from IT. ![]() COVID-19 Cases in the HospitalLast week, from March 21 to March 27, Houston Methodist Sugar Land saw 47 COVID-19 patients, none were in the ICU. PATIENT COMPLIMENTS From a Main 6 East patient: "My stay at Methodist was pleasant (not that I like being sick enough to be hospitalized). The entire staff was professional but pleasant especially the nurses for my room, Rm. 556." From a Brazos 6 patient: "Everyone I came in contact with treated me as family. Great facility."
