• ALK+ lung cancer made history at the world’s biggest oncology conference. The 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) meeting offered tremendous hope and progress in many types of cancer treatment. The crown jewel of the conference was the ALK study showing the longest reported progression-free survival outcome (7 years and still going!) in advanced NSCLC. Researchers are also looking into new ways to improve outcomes for patients with ALK+ lung cancer. LUNGevity collected the most exciting lung cancer highlights for you. 

• The 2026 American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) conference helps the lung cancer community learn about exciting treatments on the horizon. Dr. Upal Basu Roy, LUNGevity’s Executive Director of Research, compiled the most impactful lung cancer science presented at the meeting, including explorations of new technologies to improve outcomes for patients with lung cancer.
