NEWS UPDATE19 September 2025 Publishers notePeople fascinate me. I have a weakness for delving into their backgrounds, achievements, and successes, or simply understanding their journeys. Our In Conversation… series began almost by accident some years back, when I had the honour of sitting down for a long chat with Brunswick supremo David Foulkes. Since then, I have been equally honoured to speak with many others in and around our industry. Beyond the enjoyment I find in bringing these stories together, it is clear our readers share that interest. The feedback tells me these conversations strike a chord. This week, we had the pleasure of publishing two new conversations. The first with Bailey Smith from Dometic, a young professional making his mark in product management; and the second with Christina Echols, whose path into volunteering with Marine Rescue NSW was as inspiring as it was personal. Both brought thoughtful perspectives and stories worth sharing. And while not officially part of our In Conversation… series, another meaningful exchange came in the form of an industry profile on the respected Ben Sandman, who has now launched Ocean Mind Coffee, a venture with healthy oceans firmly in mind. Beyond conversations, there is much to celebrate across the industry. Our congratulations go to Boat Gold Coast on reaching its 10th anniversary. Our admiration extends to Riviera, achieving a record shipment of vessels to the USA. And we recognise the women acknowledged this week for their service, from the groundbreaking all-female executive at Marine Rescue NSW Woolgoolga, to the remarkable Brenda Warren who, at 91 years young, still takes her place in the MRQ Currumbin radio room each week. Lastly, our very best wishes go out to all involved in the Perth Boat Show, which kicks off today We do hope you enjoy this week’s news.
