Friday Edition
Friday has arrived once again! Oh, and good morning too! How are you all on this fine day? We hope you’ve all had a fantastic week. Have you done everything on your to-do list (like Christmas shopping)? If not, don’t worry; you still have plenty of time. I (Vella) am still thinking of what to get my dad. Honestly, he's the hardest to shop for out of everyone in my family! Aside from the fact that I find it hard to shop for men's stuff in general, he doesn't need anything... (at least that's what he always says). I think maybe a voucher for a massage session at a local spa. I think that's something he would enjoy and would be better than buying him a material item he may or may not need. What do you think?
Well, if you're like me and still stuck on what to get your loved ones for Christmas on a tight budget, we have a few deals and discounts that might help you with your shopping in today’s newsletter. We know this time of year can be tough on the wallet, so we hope these deals ease the burden a little bit. But for those holding off on spending, have you considered making something? A handmade gift is always more meaningful. After all, it's the thought that counts!
Anyway, enough of my Christmas gift ramblings; let's get into the newsletter, shall we? As always, we have plenty for you to enjoy today, starting with the third and final riddle of the week! This one is from our dear member @Dennis R. Thank you for this tricky riddle, Dennis!

For today’s ‘Yesterday’s Australia’ segment, we have a beautiful memory from member @Del. ‘The year was around 1970 when I truly experienced a Christmas Miracle. We never had much in those days, but Mum had prepared a lovely traditional lunch for around ten people, not allowing extra visitors. People kept 'popping' in throughout the morning, and Mum kept inviting them to stay and have lunch with us. I asked Mum how she planned to feed everyone, and she just smiled and said everything would be ok. As our table kept extending, that
Christmas remained etched into my memory bank. Not only did our lunch for around ten end up feeding 25 people, but we also had leftovers for the next day. A great reminder that miracles still do happen.’
Oh my goodness, how amazing! It’s so heart-warming that your mum was able to turn such a seemingly impossible situation into one of joy and abundance. It serves as a reminder that no matter how difficult things may seem, a little bit of faith and kindness can go a long way. A Christmas Miracle indeed. Thank you, @Del, for sharing this lovely memory with us.

Dingo and Foal
How stunning is this photo of nature in action shared by member @Big Al? They posted this photo in our photography forum and a little story of what they witnessed. ‘From our boat on the Adelaide River (Darwin), we watched as two wild horses and a foal grazed on the riverbank. An opportunistic Dingo was eying the foal, likely as a meal for its pack, which was equally likely hiding nearby, waiting for the
call to assist. As hard as the Dingo tried to separate the foal from the adults, they nevertheless ensured the foal was safely between them at all times.’
Wow, it’s a spectacular sight! That would have been so fascinating to watch. A truly amazing photo. Thanks, @Big Al, for sharing such a beautiful and powerful image.

A guy walks into a bar and sees a little white dog sitting on the piano stool playing the piano, his head tilted back, howling, obviously enjoying himself.

The Polar Express is a 2004 American computer-animated fantasy adventure based on the 1985 children’s book of the same name by Chris Van Allsburg, who also served as one of the executive producers. The film stars Tom Hanks, one of the
film’s executive producers, in multiple distinct roles. He played five roles in the movie, including that of a small child that contributed to the whimsy and magic radiating from the 2004 Christmas movie.
