Tobacco Control Meeting and Technical Workshop in Mongolia (27-28 January 2025)

WHO FCTC Knowledge Hub on Legal Challenges

The McCabe Centre for Law and Cancer, which hosts the Knowledge Hub on Legal Challenges, was invited by the WHO Country Office in Mongolia and WHO WPRO to present at a Workshop to inform Mongolia about various aspects of tobacco control as they embark on the amendments to the Tobacco Control Act and strengthen tobacco taxation.

 

Communication workshop for tobacco control, Senegal (10-12 March 2025)

WHO FCTC Knowledge Hub on Public Awareness

The aim of the training was to equip participants with the skills and knowledge they need to integrate strategic communication into their tobacco control initiatives. For three days, they developed a communication strategy tailored to the context and challenges of their country, based on the methodology provided by our Knowledge Hub, based in Santé publique France.

It provided participants with essential resources, shared country experiences, and discussed how monitoring tobacco industry activities can be integrated into broader tobacco control efforts.

World Conference on Tobacco Control 2025, Dublin (23 June 2025)

All WHO FCTC Knowledge Hubs

The Knowledge Hubs showcased the diverse technical and regional expertise offered by the Knowledge Hubs in support of WHO FCTC implementation by the Parties, including through capacity building, technical support, and sharing best practices, marking 20 years of the treaty. They also exchanged ideas with international experts and partners and contributed to new initiatives for a tobacco-free future.

The discussion addressed the impacts of the Plastic Treaty text on public health, the responsibility of the tobacco sector, and the risks of industry interference in international negotiations.
