Issue 824 Thursday, 26 September 2024
This week, I wanted to remind you all to consider applying for Tourism WA's Trade Ready Introduction Program (TRIP), after applications were extended until 5pm AWST, Friday, 18 October. For trade ready operators looking to expand into new interstate and international markets, this is an excellent opportunity — not only to receive stepped financial support from Tourism WA for the three-year program, but also expert coaching, valuable networking opportunities, and the chance to learn how to stand out at major trade shows and industry events such as the Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE). Our inaugural cohort of 10 operators surpassed all expectations and reported
outstanding feedback on the program. If you haven’t already, I encourage you to view the TRIP video here. I am sure many of you have tuned in over the years to watch beloved travel program The Great Outdoors, which is soon making a return to our screens. We’re delighted Tourism WA has secured an opportunity to showcase our Dream State in every episode this season – the largest representation of any State Tourism Organisation. This is a huge opportunity to put eyes
across the country on our wondrous state, with the series to showcase highlights from Destination Perth, Australia’s Coral Coast, Australia’s South West and Australia’s Golden Outback. We look forward to inspiring more visitors to travel to the Dream State. Before I sign off, as you may know, tomorrow we celebrate Western Australia’s outstanding tourism industry as part of the United Nations’ World Tourism Day. In recognition of the 2024 theme of ‘Tourism and Peace’, we acknowledge the power of investing in tourism to foster inclusion and celebrate rich and diverse cultures, while building strong communities and
economies. Thank you to all of you, the excellent tourism and hospitality operators across WA who deliver an exceptional visitor experience every day. Warm regards,
