Friday Edition
Oh, hey, members, I didn't see you there! Welcome to another exciting Friday here at the SDC. Come on in, take a seat and make yourself comfortable. Oh my, what a week it has been, eh? I (Vella) can't believe it's already February. It’s the month of loooooooove, and we all know what that means – time to spoil your loved ones! Do you have anything special planned? I don't know about you but I am excited about Valentine's Day. Well, I am excited for the day after Valentine's Day because that's when all the chocolates go on sale! Haha.
Kidding aside, I'm excited to prepare something special for my partner. You know, I've been a late bloomer and let's just say I spent half my life single. So now, every chance I get to make my partner feel loved, I take it! But let's also not forget that Valentine's Day is not just about romantic love. It's about celebrating all kinds of love — the love for your family, friends, and most importantly, yourself! So, whatever you're doing on Saint Valentine's Day, make sure to do something that makes you happy. Buy yourself a bar of chocolate, take yourself on a date, or just spend time with the people you love. It doesn't have to be grand, as long as it's something that brings you joy.
Anyway, enough of the lovey-dovey stuff; let's get into today's newsletter! Of course, we have the third and final riddle for the week, and this one is an absolute cracker! Thanks to member @Rest1953 for this one.
I have five. I remove two. I now have four. How can this be?
Oh! This is sure to get those brains whirring. We can’t wait to see your answers. You know the drill, folks. If you think you know the answer, head over to the riddle masters thread here. And if you get it correct, then we will give you a shout-out in tomorrow’s newsletter!

Who here remembers Peck’s pastes? It’s been a staple in Australia for generations and a part of many of our childhoods. We put it in sandwiches, on crackers and on toast, you name it! Peck’s pastes were promoted for their economy, and their resealable jars were a game changer. Sadly, Peck's pastes are no longer manufactured in Australia, and just four products remain - Anchovette, Salmon and Lobster, Chicken and Ham, and Devilled Ham.

Toowoomba storm
Today’s picture is thanks to member @Wayne Blair. They posted this photo in our photography forum with the caption, ‘Taken in the industrial area of Toowoomba looking North. I was enthralled watching this storm build, which eventually went around the back of Toowoomba.’ Wow! This looks like a scene straight out of a movie! The dark clouds and the eerie lighting make for an incredibly captivating photo. Thanks for sharing this amazing shot with us!
