Thursday Edition
Good morning, members! We know today might be quite a difficult day for some of you, so we wanted to make sure we start things nice and slow. First and foremost, we think it’s important we pay our respects to the late Queen. Today is a national day of mourning, and so we want to dedicate this entire newsletter to the late Queen, and everything she did for the Commonwealth over her lifetime. Sprinkled throughout this newsletter will be segments dedicated to different aspects of her life and we hope you enjoy reading it and reminiscing, as much as we enjoyed writing it.
Before we get into everything though, I know it’s Thursday which means we need to give the answer to yesterday’s riddle and give you a fun fact for the day! But first, the riddle. For those of you who don’t remember, the riddle was:
What flattens all mountains, wipes out all species, destroys every building and turns everything to pieces?
The answer? Time! This was a good one, don’t you think? I would have never picked the answer ‘time’. But it’s true, time really can do it all. For those of you who got the answer correct, you have your well-deserved shout-out waiting for you at the bottom of this newsletter. Congratulations, Riddle Masters!
Now, for today’s fun fact. Did you know that the late Queen was the only person in the UK allowed to drive without a licence? She even kept driving in her later years! What a woman, what a rule breaker! 😉
So, what’s happening across Australia and around the world today?
-
Since it’s our day of mourning, we thought it would be nice to all eat like the Queen! According to one chef, this was her favourite breakfast, and it’s a little unusual.

And that’s a wrap of the news for today. What did you think? If you have any feedback, we’d love to hear it. Feel free to pop it as a comment below one of the articles, or email it to us here! Also, don’t forget to add the one thing you’re grateful for today to this forum thread. I’ve really loved doing this with all of you this week. The one thing I am grateful for this morning was a slower start. I bought myself a delicious coffee and went on a walk through the Botanical Gardens here in Brisbane! It was absolutely
beautiful. I feel so lucky to be here right now. I hope you all have a lovely day today, members. I’m thinking of you all, and I hope you’re all doing well.
Oh! I should also mention that we have some exciting news. If you haven’t already seen it yourself, we have officially added a ‘petrol widget’ to our website. All you have to do is type in your postcode and it will spit out the petrol stations near you with your specified fuel type cost! I.e. U91 petrol prices for your postcode. Let us know what you think of it!
Don't forget we (finally) have another competition for you all! We are calling it ‘the best piece of advice’ competition. We want to hear the best piece of advice you’ve ever received or given, and the person with the best advice will receive a $100 voucher to your choice of Coles, Woolies, ALDI or IGA!

The exact moment the late Queen Elizabeth II came into power is unknown. The shift of power takes place the moment the reigning monarch dies, but given that King George VI died in his sleep and was found by a servant at around 7:30am, Queen Elizabeth II’s reign is said to have begun sometime during that night. Her coronation took place on June 2, 1953—14 months after she ascended to the throne, and to this day, her coronation speech is one of the most memorable speeches of all time. One of our favourite quotes is:
‘Therefore, I am sure that this, my coronation, is not the symbol of a power and a splendour that are gone but a declaration of our hopes for the future, and for the years I may, by God’s Grace and Mercy, be given to reign and serve you as your Queen.’

A beautiful Prawn fell in love with a handsome Crab. They were mad about each other so she went home to tell her family.
Prawn’s father was not happy about it at all. ‘We know nothing about that Crab and don’t even know where he lives.’ He said, ‘On top of that, crabs are just ridiculous-looking animals. They cannot even walk straight. They just go from side to side. No. You are not going to go out with him. Tell him not to come around here!’
Hahaha! Oh, this is a bit of a weird but wonderful joke. A big thanks to member @Luckyus for sharing this with us! Click here to read the rest of the joke.
