NEWS UPDATE11 July 2025 Publishers noteAt my old age, and with the number of years in the industry under my belt, it’s not often that a vessel truly stops me in my tracks. But this week, it happened not once—but twice. With more than three decades in the marine industry and 23 years immersed in the Sydney International Boat Show, I’ve seen plenty of exceptional craft. Yet every now and then, something comes along that reignites that wide-eyed sense of awe. The first was SIMENA, a 203-foot ketch-rigged sailing superyacht from ARES Yachts. Striking in both size and design, this vessel demands admiration. We’ve included a gallery link in the full article so you can see exactly what I mean. The second vessel—smaller in scale but no less captivating—is the newly announced Grand G950, a 10-metre Luxury Cabin RIB from Grand Boats. Built in Ukraine, details are still emerging, but even from the first image, this boat speaks of performance and premium style. Also in this week’s edition: the restoration of Wasabi 1, a timeless Kelly Peterson 46; a thoughtful repower of Long John Silver, a classic Bertram 35; and the thrilling debut of the Palm Beach GT60 powered by twin 1,000-hp Volvo Penta driving Hamilton Jet systems. I do hope you enjoy this week’s news. Marine Business News is an Australian-owned marine industry news service publishing local and international news.
