NEWS UPDATE23 January 2026 Publishers noteWith boot Düsseldorf currently underway, new product launches and industry announcements are coming through thick and fast. While some developments relate directly to Australian distributors, others do not, which in itself highlights opportunities for local businesses able to identify gaps in the market and respond to emerging consumer needs. It has been encouraging to read and hear about the show’s success. The volume of news has been such that we will continue to share updates over the coming days, as more information filters through from exhibitors, manufacturers and industry stakeholders. Like many well-run boat shows around the world, they provide a platform to achieve a wide range of business objectives. Boat shows are close to my heart, and I am well aware of the value they can deliver across the board. A good boat show can provide meaningful benefits to all involved, exhibitors, OEMs, visitors, suppliers, organisers and many others who rely on these events to connect, trade and plan for the future. It is reasonable to expect positive outcomes when participating in a boat show, regardless of which stakeholder group you sit within. That said, these events are complex undertakings, requiring a clear understanding of the market, as well as the practical and commercial realities involved in their delivery. Closer to home, next weekend marks the first boat show in Australia for the year. The Gippsland Boat Show, scheduled for 27 February to 1 March, promises a mix of education, entertainment and commercial opportunity. I have already spoken with people from around Australia who plan to attend; and that is exactly how it should be. We do hope you enjoy this week’s news.
