PREMISE ALERT PROGRAM INFORMATION

The Village of Northbrook Police Department administers the Premise Alert Program, a useful tool for first responders to be aware of special information or instructions regarding persons with special needs or disabilities that require attention when calls for service are requested. Submit at northbrook.il.us/Alert-Program.

FEEL THE RUSH AT THE NORTHBROOK GRAND PRIX!

Mark your calendar for Thursday, July 24, as the Northbrook Grand Prix takes over downtown with heart-pounding criterium races starting at 11am. Part of the Chicago Grit series (Day 7 of 10), these high-energy “crits” feature elite cyclists tearing through a closed-loop course in laps that take under 2 minutes each! With rapid sprints, tight turns, and nonstop action, it’s one of the most thrilling spectator sports around. Races run throughout the day with times set by rider age and skill level—don’t miss the excitement!

Race Day Schedule

Bike The Green - Family Community Ride
A half hour Family Community Ride is scheduled for 6:15pm. This event takes place between the women’s and men’s professional races and is sponsored by the Northbrook Park District. The Family Fun Ride is open to all ages and abilities and is free to enter. Registration is required, along with a helmet worn by each participant. Parents can register their families in-person on race day by 5 pm, or prior to race day online with this link.

Grand Prix Course
Streets in downtown Northbrook will be closed to create this fast-paced 1.1km (.75 mile) course. Picnic anywhere along the route, in the Village Green Park, or along neighborhood streets. Or visit any of the downtown establishments who are open all day and into the night!

The Northbrook Civic Foundation has one major fundraising event each year: Northbrook Days – held each summer in  Northbrook. The five-day festival includes carnival games, rides, prize raffles, food from local restaurants, beer & wine, live music, and more! Learn more here. 

Northbrook Grand Prix
Thursday, July 24 from 11am-8pm
Northbrook hosts a leg of Chicago Grit, the nation’s largest road racing series, on Thursday, July 24. Cyclists from around the world will race through downtown in thrilling high-speed criterium races. The 1.1-kilometer course loops around Village Green Park, showcasing Northbrook’s strong cycling community and the historic Ed Rudolph Velodrome. Learn more at nbgrandprix.com.

National Night Out 
Tuesday, August 5 from 6-9pm
Meadowhill Aquatic Center
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships. The night includes DJ entertainment, giveaways, swimming, snacks, popsicles, drinks, games, raffles, K9 demonstrations, and more.
