Sunday Edition
Good morning lovely members! And a very happy Sunday morning to you all. I (Maddie) am so excited about this morning because I have absolutely nothing planned for the day, so I’m going to spend my morning in bed, walk the dogs, do some grocery shopping, and then make something nice for dinner. I’m thinking something slow-cooked so I can get it all ready this morning so that by dinner time all I have to do is serve it. A nice little thing I like to call, looking after my future self. 😉
This week’s ‘quote of the week’ is actually an entry from our previous competition, ‘what’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?’ So many of you submitted such great pieces of advice, and although this wasn’t the winner (I wish we could have made every entry a winner!) It has really stuck with me since I first read it. It was posted on our forum by the lovely member, @SeniorSnoopy, here’s what it said:
‘My beautiful father used to tell my sister and I “Don’t put off till tomorrow what you can do today as you may enjoy what you did today and you can do it again tomorrow.”’
This advice was a bit glass-shattering for me. I noticed I put a lot of things off ‘till tomorrow’. It might be things that I love or hate doing. It doesn't really matter, but regardless I’ve started doing those things ‘today’. A great example is, every day I decide what stories the team should feature in our newsletters and it’s one of my favourite jobs to do. I usually do it first thing in the morning, but lately, I’ve been doing it at the end of my day. It means I always end the day on a good note, and start the next day already ahead of schedule. It’s almost like I’m looking after my future self, and making sure her day starts with a little less stress and a bit more organisation! So what can you do today that you would usually put off until tomorrow? A big thank you to member @SeniorSnoopy for sharing this with us!
Now then, that’s enough rambling from me, what happened across Australia and around the world this week?

Today’s ‘Yesterday’s Australia’ segment is brought to you by the lovely member, @featherfour. ‘We didn't have a laundry, but outside was the wash house. Inside was copper heated by a gas ring. I remember Mum's arms, red with the heat of the water as she would wring out the sheets by hand. The copper was also our dog's bath, and I remember being a little bit worried by that gas flame…but the dog didn't get accidentally cooked.’
My goodness, we are so lucky with how far technology has come! I washed all my bed sheets this morning and I just cannot imagine having to do that all by hand! But these are very precious memories, thank you so much for sharing them with us, @featherfour.

I love you!
I absolutely love this photo! And I’m so glad I stumbled upon it when I was on the lookout for the perfect ‘picture of the day’ for our Sunday newsletter. Member @Oldino posted this on our forum, along with the caption ‘a male seal showing affection to his younger female seal on Kangaroo Island.’ What a shot this is! The seals seem so peaceful and in love. Thank you for sharing this moment with us, @Oldino!

One day a father gets out of work and on his way home he suddenly remembers that it's his daughter's birthday.
He pulls over to a toy shop and asks the salesperson, ‘How much for one of those Barbies in the display window?’
Oh, this is a funny one! But please beware, it does mention divorce so only click if that doesn’t upset you! As someone who grew up with divorced parents though, I can still confirm I giggled a little… Click here to read the rest of the joke! A big thanks to member @Skipton for sharing it with us.
