Sick of hearing from us every day? Click here to get the Sunday only send.
Happy Sunday, dearest members! How are you all doing? I (Jarred) hope you’re all fine and dandy as you open this newsletter! As I write this, I’m eating my favourite snack: Tim Tams! These little rectangles of biscuit and chocolatey perfection used to be my little fixes of heaven on Earth! As a child, I remember always asking for them whenever my folks would go out for a shop. Oh, I remember the evil stare my sister would give me when she’d realise someone had been taking a sneaky bite (or ten…) out of her choccie stash, which would be followed by a short chase around the house. I’d always outrun her, though! 😉 Ah, the good times…
Anyway, I’ve since had a more muted appetite for sweets — part of growing up, maybe — but of course, now and then, I’d get that odd craving for some. And so, I bought a packet, only to be a bit disappointed that they’ve somehow shrunken. The thing is, I’m not entirely sure that they really have, which places me in a weird spot of confusion and surprise. In the end, it doesn’t matter: there are only a few Tim Tams to go, and by the end of this newsletter, I will be a happy man with a full stomach, smaller biscuits be damned. Are they your favourite biscuit too? Or do you have another? I’d love to hear about which biscuit is your favourite and why! Tell me all about it here on the forum.
Now, it’s Sunday, and you know what that means? It’s time for this week’s quote of the week…
‘It is as it is.’
Thank you for that, member Jean M.! Life is a long challenge of keeping your spirit bright and burning in a world full of dampers. Sometimes, what makes it easier to soldier on through it all is simply accepting things for what they are. That goes for everything, too — from finding out your favourite grocery buy has fallen victim to ‘shrinkflation’, to facing the countless sobering truths out there. This short quote also saves me from obsessing over the things I cannot change, which gets quite bothersome as an overthinker (which I am sure a lot of you can relate to). If only there was an off switch for restless minds, eh?
Now, let’s look at what happened across Australia and around the world this week:
