The British Council CEO visit to Israel

During June we had the privilege to host our Chief Executive, Scott McDonald, and the Regional Director for Wider Europe - Joanna Burke. They attended the Gala for the Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists, met with our Partners and with multiple grantees and alumni. They also visited The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, met recipients of our BIRAX grants and GROWTH Fellowships and discussed their research on ageing and health (diabetes, vascular system, senescence). Scott and Joanna even had a chance to see some tourist attractions (and our cool offices!).

We are delighted to Invite you to take part in an academic Delegation to Israel!

You will visit Israeli Universities and learn more about their work in sustainability and clean growth, network with academics and meet potential collaborators for joint endeavours. The delegation is aimed at researchers who hold key positions in their institutions relating to sustainability, clean growth, or related fields. The focus of the delegation will be on research and innovation and will showcase different models of sustainability-themed research within Israeli universities and the ways in which such research is commercialised.

The Wohl Clean Growth Alliance Grants - Extended!
|
The Wohl Alliance aims to further research-linked cooperation between the UK and Israel in areas of clean growth linked to food, water and energy. We are pleased to invite applications for grants of up to $25,000 to help form, maintain, enlarge and promote such collaboration.
The call will now remain open for submissions until 31 December 2022.

BIRAX Ageing Selection Panel
|
Earlier in June, the BIRAX Ageing Selection Panel convened (in person!) to review the applications for the second BIRAX Ageing Call for Proposals. The Panel consisted of twelve of the top researchers in the areas related to ageing, seven from the UK and five from Israel.
