NEWS UPDATE29 August 2025 Publishers noteIt has long been the case that the DNA of the larger, internationally recognised boat shows has been tied to their timing around the middle of winter. The logic behind this is sound, and history has shown that such timing has been one of the defining ingredients of successful events. Of course, timing alone does not make a boat show thrive. Success is driven by many factors; all aimed at ensuring that the three key stakeholders each benefit. The formula for success is both complex and an ongoing conversation. By this point in the year, we are usually looking back on most of the season’s major shows, with only a few still to come. Those that remain have their own purpose and character, shaped by why, when, and how they are delivered. Yet 2025 seems to stand out as different. Rather than winding down, we appear to be on the cusp of another wave of shows. Still to come this year are the Spit Boat Show – Sydney (13–14 September), the Perth Boat Show (19–21 September), the Melbourne Boat Show (16–19 October), the SA Boat Show (24–26 October), Sail Expo – Sydney (24–26 October), and the Sydney International On-Water Boat Show (13–16 November). Some of these events carry history and tradition, well embedded in Australia’s annual calendar. Others have emerged more recently, either to fill a gap or as a reimagining of previous formats. Whichever the case, we trust that the Australian marine industry, and all those exhibiting, find the success they have worked hard for. For those forward planning, our Marine Business News Events Calendar provides the full picture of what lies ahead. We do hope you enjoy this week’s news.
