Mapping efficient sales territories

Sales territories, store catchments, service areas, customer hot-spots, it is hard to come up with a catch-all term that does justice to the breadth of intelligent area mapping for your organisation. Whether it is providing efficient territories for your field team, or ensuring that a hospital is located in the best place to service its catchment of potential patients, there is so much to consider.

In-depth territory reviews are critical to ensuring good performance for your organisation, so where do you start? We've tried to pull together some of our 25 years' experience into a straight-forward territory mapping 101. Take a look.

We've also got a wealth of client case studies to get you thinking about your next catchment review:

  • Territory management for growth: We worked with Thatchers Cider to help them expand beyond their traditional south-west heartland.
  • Optimising healthcare services through territory planning: Our work with a private ambulance provider to ensure they provide an effective service to their clients.
  • Presenting your network to clients: ASP Hair use MapVision to connect clients with their closest distributor.

If this whets your appetite, then take a look at our growing library of case studies to find ideas and inspiration to help your organisation thrive.

Targeted data for better roads

With national lockdowns hopefully behind us, the UK's transport infrastructure is now working at capacity again. Transport Focus, the independent watchdog for transport users, needs to assess user satisfaction on specific major roads - known as the Strategic Road Network. We work with them to help create targeted digital surveys to get feedback on these specific areas, so that they can concentrate development on the areas that matter to users.

Census data release dates

The ONS have just confirmed their release schedule for the data coming out of last years’ national Census. Excitingly, phase one data for England and Wales is being released in May or June this year!

This phased release is a mixed blessing though; we will get initial data earlier, but it will be broader population and household estimates. More detailed data will start to be released in the autumn with phased releases continuing into 2023. We'll update you as we find out more detail.

MapVision: New Modules

MapVision now offers far more than it originally did when we launched it three years ago. In addition to integrated features like population counts, easy territory management, drivetime calculations and online sharing, we have now developed two entirely new bolt-on modules:

  • A demographic package which includes counts of households in postcode sectors classified through our geodemographic P2, alongside numerous census data.
  • A scheduler module allowing you to create and optimise routes to a series of points over one or multiple days. It takes into account visit time, fixed visit days, and repeat calls for a single person or an entire field team.

Each of these modules provides in-depth tools designed to inform the organisations that need them, whilst keeping MapVision a light, easy-to-use platform.

If you'd like a demonstration of these new modules, please get in touch.
