As a newcomer to the school, I have been incredibly impressed by the commitment and connection our students and staff have maintained throughout the latest two lockdowns. Over the course of the last few weeks, there has been a flurry of excitement, deep thinking and collaboration as our students plan for 2022 and courses they take. Excitingly, some students in Year 10 have been selecting the International Baccalaureate (IB) as a pathway for the first time – we look forward to launching the IB with this foundation cohort in 2022 ... ![]() Interact "FORaMEAL" Packing DayOn Thursday, July 15th, the student-run Interact Club, GiV, and Social Service team held Mac.Rob’s first ever FORaMEAL Packing Day. FORaMEAL is an initiative designed by Canterbury Rotary Club, where communities can come together to help pack emergency relief meals for communities affected by natural disasters ... Youth In PhilanthropyThroughout Terms 2 and 3, Mac.Rob’s Youth in Philanthropy committee (an extension of the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Fund) was given $10,000 to delegate between organisations of their choice. The committee was first asked to determine our philanthropic objective (i.e. what we wanted to achieve via such donations to charity), and eventually concluded that action towards climate change and net zero emissions was of utmost importance ... ![]() The Island: Year 9 Immersion ProjectLast Term, all the Year 9 students were lucky enough to take part in an exciting interdisciplinary project called ‘The Island’. Students were given a prompt: After a period of intense civil dispute, the Australian Government had disbanded.
