Sunday Edition
Good Morning Members! And a big happy Sunday to you all. You lot know how much we love our Sundays. It’s the one day a week where our day starts on the lounge, with our feet up, cuppa in one hand, and our Sunday Newsletter in the other. Honestly, there’s just no better way to start the day if we can say so ourselves 😉
Now, we are thoroughly enjoying our new weekly segment of ‘quote of the week’ so let’s get straight into it, shall we? This week’s quote is…
“Enjoy the little things.”
Ah how we love a short, sweet, and straight to the point quote. We’ve been keeping this quote at the front of our minds lately. We feel like this year has gone so quickly, we cannot believe we are in May! It feels like we are just constantly rushing to the next ‘thing’ whether that be a dinner, a meeting, a coffee catch-up, a workout, a work event etc. and you know what? Running around like a headless chicken makes you feel like you aren’t present at all. So we say, take the time to enjoy the little things. Maybe you love coffee as much as us so you really make sure, when the first sip lands on your lips of a morning you stop and take a moment to enjoy it. When you have the first bite of a meal you’ve really been looking forward to, stop and take a moment to appreciate the flavours. When you finally see that loved one after a few days, weeks or months of not seeing them, really take that
moment to look at them and appreciate the fact you are in their presence again.
Life is all about the little things members, so make sure you are taking the time to enjoy them. We sure are trying.
Now, let’s get stuck into some news. What happened across Australia and around the world this week?
-
This week Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, and IGA gave us some fantastic deals, including Kellogg's Nutri Grain, Mayver’s Peanut Butter, Crumbed Chicken Breast Tenders, and some Mother’s Day gift ideas. You can still get these deals today!
-
Aussies were baffled by this $1 gadget that one South Australian found in a second-hand shop. Do you have any idea what it does?
-
A driver has raised eyebrows after welding a Woolies trolley to his car. Now this is something you don’t see everyday!
-
Kmart shoppers raved about this $49 hairstyling item, which is almost three times cheaper than a popular brand but produces equally impressive results.
-
Shoppers were left gobsmacked after spotting this unusual sign in the meat aisle of an Aldi store.
-
This simple road rule question stumped hundreds of Aussies, can you answer it?
-
This shopper shared an amazing discovery after finding an unusual detail on a carton of free-range eggs sold at Coles, Woolies, and other specialty stores.
-
We also learnt a few ‘jokes from the Trenches of the ANZACs', and from members Doug S, @SeniorSue, Jonathan, and @Pepsi. Click each link for a good laugh.
-
Check your bank accounts! The federal government started distributing one-time $250 cost-of-living payments to millions of Australians. Here's how to find out if you're eligible…
-
We also discovered the top 10 songs from the 1970s according to Aussies.
-
Shoppers went nuts about this $25 celebrity perfume from Chemist Warehouse, which they claim smells exactly like a $400 high-end fragrance.
-
And finally, we were made aware of a scam perpetrated by scammers posing as Woolworths to get victims’ personal information by promising free groceries.
And that’s a wrap of the week that was members! We would say it was ‘quite the week’, but it feels like we say that every week? Fortunately, ‘the good stuff’ doesn’t stop here! There’s plenty in store for you below including an interesting trivia question, that we didn’t actually know the answer to, but do you? And of course a few games including our beloved ‘OzWord’ and our newest game ‘The Last Two Letters’. If you haven’t given this one a go, we highly recommend you do! It’s a lot harder than you’d think. Oh and let us know what you think of our Sudoku game? There's nothing quite like a game of Sudoku on a Sunday if you ask us.
And of course, last but certainly not the least, don't forget to post your best joke in our joke competition forum for your chance to win a $100 voucher to Coles, Woolies, Aldi or IGA!
Now, as always, stay safe and happy reading!
