Saturday Edition
Hey, hey, it's Saturday! How's everyone doing today? We hope you're all safe and well. This week, many of Australia’s eastern states have been hit by wild weather, causing disastrous floods. So our thoughts go out to all those who have been affected. And if you’re one of them, please know that we are here for you, and we will get through this together. We have a story on the floods and how to get financial assistance further down this newsletter. And, of course, if you need to talk to someone, please don't hesitate to reach out to us here. Someone in our team was impacted back
in February so can relate first-hand. We're always happy to chat. If you're feeling gloomy today, I hope our newsletter can help raise your spirits!
To start things off, let’s take a look at the answer to yesterday’s riddle. So what was it again?
What do you throw out when you want to use it but take in when you don’t?
And the answer is... an anchor! But we also had quite a few of you who answered fishing line or net, which works too! You guys are just too good! If you got it correct, you'll find a shout-out waiting for you further down this newsletter.
Now, onto our next segment for the day, ‘What Would the Grandkids Say?’ Today, we’re taking a look at the term ‘cringe’. Have you ever seen something so embarrassing that it made you want to hide away? Well, that feeling is called ‘cringe’. When we say something is cringe-worthy, it means it's so awkward that it's painful to watch. Ouch! This term is often used to describe people who are trying too hard or when someone does something embarrassing. So next time you see some cringe-worthy behaviour, you'll know just what to call it!
Oh, and one more thing before we get into the news. Check out today’s ALDI Special Buys! There are some great deals on there so don’t forget to browse them!

Today’s ‘Yesterday’s Australia’ segment is thanks to the wonderful @cwtears. ‘I miss the Saturday morning when the butchers closed at 12 o'clock and made up $10 meat trays, which would last a family all week.’
This is such a lovely memory! It’s amazing to think about how different life was just a few decades ago and how our shopping habits have changed so much. It’s also heartwarming to imagine families spending time together on Saturday mornings, chatting and laughing as they prepare their meals for the week ahead. Thank you so much, @cwtears, for sharing this special memory with us!

An old guy was sitting eating at a local truck stop.
When three big, burly bikers walked in…
The first stubbed his cigarette out in the old guy's pie, the second walked past and spat in his coffee, and the last flipped the guy's plate over, tipping the rest of his meal everywhere.
Hahaha, this is a good one! A big thank you to @Fisherman2320 for sharing this hilarious joke with us. You had us in stitches! Check out the rest of the joke here.
