Friday Edition
Good Morning Members! And a very happy Good Friday to you all! We hope you’re spending today with those you love, and if you aren’t, just remember we have an entire online community of incredible people just like yourself that you can connect with any day, any time so jump online for a guaranteed smile, eh? Oh and of course remember: There’s nothing a cuppa can’t fix, so be sure to make yourself
one (or get someone to make you one) to enjoy while you’re reading today’s newsletter.
Now, it wouldn’t be a Friday without the third and final riddle of the week, would it? Today’s riddle was sent to us by the lovely @Rest1953 and it’s a pretty tough one if we do say so ourselves…
Glittering points, that downward thrust, sparkling spears, that never rust. What am I?
Have a good, hard think about this one members. It’s such a good one, but it had to be ‘good’ for Good Friday now didn’t it? (Sorry, we had to). If you think you know the answer, post it here on our forum! Unfortunately we won’t get the chance to announce our Riddle Masters in tomorrow’s newsletter, just because we’ll be a bit busy eating a few too many Hot Cross Buns and sipping on a few too many coffees. However, don’t worry we will let you know what the correct answer is, so you can use this riddle to test anyone you
see over the long weekend… and we promise we’ll make up for it next week by doing one big Riddle Masters announcement!
Okay, let’s get into the news shall we? What’s happening across Australia and around the world today?

things to a whole new level.

And finally, who here is a self proclaimed Disaster-Chef? (Jon’s hand is up 😉) Well here are some hilarious pictures of cooking gone wrong, from a very-charcoal chicken to a scary looking poached egg.
And that’s a wrap of the news today members, but it most certainly isn’t the end of the newsletter. We highly recommend checking out today’s ‘Yesterday’s Australia’ segment for some Milk Bar memories as well as today’s picture of the day posted by member @Wayne B. It’s a really gorgeous photograph!
Also, it wouldn’t be a Friday if we didn’t let you lot know there are some great deals on the Coles Best Buys website. And of course, there’s today’s OzWord which we are absolutely loving, so if you’re into ‘Wordle’ but want to give the Aussie version a go, this is a must!
Most importantly members, stay safe especially this long weekend and happy reading!
- Jonathan, Vella, Sean, James & Maddie.

Who here loved their local milk bar? We don’t see many around these days, but there is still no one better at making milkshakes than these Milk Bars! This specific Milk bar was ‘The Golden Star’ and was Perth’s first ‘American-style’ milk bar. It was established by two Greek brothers, Stavros and John Coufos, originally from the island of Kastellorizo. The enterprise was located at what is now Gledden Arcade, corner of Hay and William Streets, in Perth’s central business district. It’s a great picture, isn’t it?
