Last week AP4D made a submission to a parliamentary inquiry into Australia’s response to the priorities of Pacific Island countries and the Pacific region. The submission draws on AP4D's significant body of work relating to Australia’s engagement with the Pacific and outlines several recommendations for strengthening Australia-Pacific relations. A submission was also made to the Statutory Review of the Online Safety Act 2021, drawing on consultations with some of Australia’s foremost experts on information and communications practices consulted as part of AP4D’s new paper on the information environment.

On 29 May AP4D had the pleasure of hosting Singapore's Senior Minister of State Sim Ann during her visit to Australia as part of DFAT's Special Visits Program. And on 14 June AP4D was delighted to meet in Melbourne with Douglas Hsu, Taiwan's Representative to Australia, and colleagues from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Australia.
