Sunday Edition
Good morning members, and happy Sunday. We hope you’re feeling rested and relaxed today, as to us here at the SDC, that's what Sundays are all about, rest, rejuvenation and recaps (Sunday’s weekly recap of course). So, to practice what we preach, we have decided to take it nice and cruisey today and reflect on the week that was. Let’s jump right in eh?
So what happened in Australia and around the world this week?
-
This week, Coles, Woolworths, Aldi and IGA gave us some fantastic half-priced deals, including Kellogg’s Coco Pops, Messina Gelato Bars (Yum!), meat and deli delights, and some great kitchen essentials. You can still get these deals today!
-
Aldi continues to sell expensive items for budget prices and released a new, delicious product this week that will only set you back $6!
-
The budget supermarket didn’t stop there and launched another item perfect for making your outdoor entertaining space even cosier.
-
A $49 item sparked an insane shopping craze over at Big W! You might want to get in quick for this one, ladies and gents.
-
One Aussie mum was left speechless after her daughter stumbled across a heart-warming find in Kmart.
-
A Kmart shopper scored herself a $39 version of a $500 item and gave her living room a gorgeous makeover.
-
We also learnt of this $4 Kmart gadget that curls your hair without heat!
-
Members @cheb, @m.e_trainor, and @thomas shared some hilarious jokes that left us all in stitches.
-
Urgent Product Recall: A popular cheese sold at Coles or IGA was recalled over fears it had been contaminated.
-
A great-grandmother revealed the ultimate hack for stopping toddler tantrums and we think it’s brilliant.
-
And finally, One mum saved her son’s life after she noticed a strange issue with her son’s reflection.
And that is the wrap of the week that was! A bit of everything in there eh? But don’t scatter away just yet, as we have plenty more in store for you! Take a dive right into our hilarious (grand)dad joke of the day, or have a gander at this amazing photo taken by member @Algieboy. What a stunning shot!
Most importantly members, stay safe, and happy reading!

Anyone remember when Aussie currency used to look like this? Dollars and cents were only introduced in Australia in 1966, and before then, we had pounds and shillings. Still that classic colourful look we know today though. Does anyone have any of these left?

Nothing says "sophisticated evening with friends" than a delicious board of sophisticated cheeses. The problem with those sophisticated cheeses, however, is that they often hold a hefty pricetag. Shredded Tasty cheese on a cracker just doesn't cut it.
Luckily, Aldi has released a delicious luxury cheese that will only set you back $6. How good is that?! Click the button below to learn more about the delicious cheese and where you can get your hands on it!

Compare Health Cover Now*
Three health insurance rate rises in the space of 18 months are what Aussies are being slapped with after a two year long global pandemic. Aussies were paying an average of $230.26 more for their health insurance after the 2021 price hikes. And now from 1 April 2022, a single person over the age of 65 will pay an additional average of about $75* more per year, with families paying an additional average of about $154* more per year.
What few people realise is that there are government rebates out there that could save you hundreds of dollars per year on your cover*. For eligible Aussies, the starting cost of a combined hospital & extras policy comes in at under $23 / week (or $3.22 per day) once the rebate has been claimed.
See if you're eligible for the latest government rebates to get health insurance from under $23 a week.
