ALLIANCE PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Coming Soon: DIFI Standard Release 1.2.0
Since DIFI issued release 1.1 of its digital IF standard in August 2022, our Specification Working Group (SWG) has been hard at work on the next version. The Working Group shared an initial release candidate (RC1) with DIFI members for
review and comment earlier this month. SWG will provide a second draft (RC2), based on comments received, and approval as release 1.2.0.
What will be new in release 1.2.0? The key changes concern synch & flow control and recommended conventions, along with bandwidth and sampling rate clarifications. The goal of the release is to improve the standard for key uses cases and markets.
Standards development, like housework, is never done. With release 1.2 on the runway, SWG is already preparing topics for consideration for release 1.3, with a focus on features specifically for improving TDMA and related applications.
