NEWS UPDATE18 August 2023 Publishers noteThe Sydney International Boat Show provides great opportunities for those that visit. It was remiss of me last week not to mention two fabulous conversations I had, and enjoyed immensely. Firstly, I had the opportunity to have a chat with Eric Fetchko, President of Dometic Marine who was visiting from Canada. Eric took the time to chat with me about the work Dometic has done of late, and their vision for the future. It was very pleasing to hear how the boating consumer was always at the forefront of their planning and development. Their current range delivers an enviable portfolio of customer comfort and I have no doubt their vision and plans for the future will continue to see a growth in the desirability and demand for their offerings. I also had the chance to sit down and have a coffee and chat with David Foulkes, CEO of the Brunswick Corporation. This conversation further enforced my views that boaters of the future have a lot to look forward to. Understandably, much of our conversation related to the electrification of boating, how we got here, and what the future looks like. Over recent years, Marine Business News has published many many stories pertaining to this subject, with product releases, new sporting competitions using new forms of power, and several other topics related to the subject. David was able to provide a fabulous overview that really helped me correct some of my misconceptions about E.V’s. My conversation with David will be the foundation for an upcoming story we will bring you in Marine Business News soon. This week we have seen many many stories, of which most would not fit in this weekly newsletter. Please visit our website to read more.
