Mitty's first exhibition with the gallery, Postcard Perfect, took place at Harper's Apartment in January 2022; a second presentation, Legerdemain, followed in November 2022 at Harper's Los Angeles. At once serene and delirious, Mitty’s paintings transform familiar scenes into liquid dreamworlds. An amalgamation of observations, memories, and imagination, Mitty’s works are dizzying translations of the endless variety of visual information offered by her subjects, transformed into visions of hope and possibility. Compositions of domestic interiors, urban decay, or ebullient landscapes are enriched by a sumptuous textural dimension, achieved through a synthesis of painting techniques and collaged material. With a masterful command of her materials and a passion for experimentation, she continues to push the boundaries of what acrylic painting can be.
