We call it a continuum of care for crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and long-term mental health support. We’re hosting a panel discussion with the BC Crisis Line Network on December 14 to share the free, accessible support and services available across BC. BC Disaster StressEvacuations, loss, worry — BC’s floods affect us all. However you’re feeling, resources are here to help you take care of yourself and your loved ones through the ongoing natural disaster stress. Support for healthcare workersIf you or a healthcare worker you know is feeling burnt out, anxious, or depressed, your peers are here for you. Care to Speak is a support service that provides free, unbiased, and confidential peer mental health support to all healthcare workers in BC. CMHA BC partners with AgSafe to support farmer mental wellnessCMHA BC and AgSafe are partnering to meet the growing need for mental wellness support within British Columbia’s agriculture industry. AgSafe is one of many organizations working to open a positive dialogue about mental health challenges faced by those working in agriculture. Living Life to the Full for YouthLiving Life to the Full for Youth (13-18) is a mental health promotion course designed to help youth deal with everyday life challenges. A certified facilitator will guide them through learning and implementing new skills. This online course takes place every Tuesday, starting January 18th, from 4:30pm to 6pm, for 9 weeks. The Gift of WellnessIn partnership with go2HR, we’re releasing a series of videos on supporting mental health through December. While the videos are designed for those working in hospitality and tourism, this advice is for anyone looking to prioritize their mental wellness. North Shore PACTThe CMHA North and West Vancouver Branch now has a first-in-BC mental health crisis mobile outreach team that is entirely civilian-based. This Peer Assisted Care Team connects individuals in distress with a community-based, trauma-informed mental health response. Help us be there for them!
