Imagine paying just $1.40 a year in rent—sounds like a dream, right? For over 500 years, the Fuggerei in Augsburg, Germany has made this possible. But to stay here, you must pray three times daily for its founder. Today, tourists pay $10.70 to see this historic site—more than a year’s worth of rent!
