Wednesday Edition
Good morning, members, and welcome to another wonderful Wednesday! How are you all this morning? We hope you are all feeling physically and mentally well. If not, that's okay too. We're here for you, no matter what. We also have those days when we just don't feel like getting out of bed and facing the world. Some problems seem impossible and we just want to hide away from them all. But today is a new day where we can start afresh and look at things with a new perspective. So let's take a deep breath in and let it out slowly. And as we do, let's remember that we are not alone. We know this is a serious note to start the newsletter on, but we just wanted to remind you that if you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious or stressed, please reach out to us for a chat, or to a professional who can actively give you the assistance you may need. We have put together a list of helplines you can contact if you or someone you know needs help.
We know not everyone can be in a good place all the time, but we hope our little newsletters bring a smile to your face. So let's get into today's activities, shall we?
Starting off today, we have our Coles, Woolies, ALDI and IGA deals for the week. As always, we've found some great deals for you, so head on over to the links and check them out.
Next, we have your second riddle of the week, courtesy of member Dennis R! It’s a tricky one, so get those thinking caps on! Here it goes:
I have four legs, one head, and a foot. What am I?
So? How are you lot fairing with this one? If you think you know the answer, head on over to our riddle masters thread here. If you get the answer correct, you’ll get a shout-out in tomorrow’s newsletter!

For today’s ‘Yesterday’s Australia’ segment, we have a lovely memory shared by @Ian1: ‘This is typical of the days when freelance photographers would drum up business by stopping passers-by in the streets (or, in this case, Piccadilly Arcade, Sydney), and offer to take their photo (at a price, I guess!). On this particular day (circa 1958), my Father agreed, so he and I had our picture taken there and then. These were the days when you wouldn’t think of going to the city, especially wearing any less than a suit and tie and a hat for the
men. My Mother made sure I was well-dressed. Note also, in the shop window behind, evidence of lady’s fashion of the day. Isn’t it great, as we get older, to look back on happy memories.’
Oh, this is such a lovely memory! I can visualise the scene so clearly, with the busy streets and the people rushing by. And then there’s you and your dad, taking a break from the hustle and bustle to have your photo taken. You both look so dapper in your suits and hats! It’s so great that you have it captured in this photo. Thank you for sharing this lovely photo and memory with us, @Ian1!
