Saturday Edition
Good morning, members, and welcome to the weekend! There’s nothing like a Saturday morning, is there? We hope you’re all ready for a fun-filled weekend because we certainly are! We’ve got a lot planned for you, so let’s get straight into it, shall we?
First up, we have the answer to yesterday's riddle. What was it again?
Pronounced as 1 letter and written with 3. 2 letters there are, and only 2 in me. I am double, I am single, black, grey or blue. I am read from ends, and the same either way, what am I?
Did you get it? The answer is ‘eye.’ Why? Because it’s pronounced as one letter (‘I’), written with three letters (‘eye’), contains two letters (‘e’ and ‘y’), it’s double (two eyes), single (one eye), black (the pupil), grey or blue (the iris), and can be read from both ends and the same either way (‘eye’ and ‘eye’). Whew! That was a tough one! But if you managed to get the answer correct, you’ll find a shoutout waiting for you at the bottom of this newsletter. Congratulations!
Now, onto our next segment for the day, ‘What Would the Grandkids Say.’ Today, we are taking a look at the phrase ‘it’s giving’. It's a slang term used to describe someone or something as exceptionally great or good-looking. For example, if you see a celebrity looking especially good, you might say, ‘Wow, she is really giving today!’ or ‘It's giving rockstar’ if she has a rockstar look. So next time your grandkids look extra stylish, tell them they're giving!
