Updated MIPI I3C Specifications and Supporting Resources

Following the adoption earlier this year of the first update to the publicly available MIPI I3C Basic℠ v1.1.1, the MIPI I3C Working Group also released multiple resources to support implementation. Download the latest version of the specification and learn more through the on-demand webinar, "What’s New in MIPI I3C Basic and the I3C Ecosystem," a Q&A with the working group chair on the MIPI blog, and an industry panel discussion at MIPI DevCon 2021. New supporting documents include two application notes focused on the Hot-Join feature and virtual devices and targets, a Conformance Test Suite (CTS) and updated FAQs.

Updated MIPI M-PHY and New MASS Camera Specification Released

MIPI Alliance has adopted MIPI M-PHY® v5.0, a major update to the physical-layer interface for connecting the latest generation of flash memory-based storage and other high-data rate applications.

In addition, MIPI Camera Service Extensions (CSE℠) v1.0 was released, enhancing the MIPI Camera Serial Interface 2 (MIPI CSI-2®) image sensor interface with end-to-end functional safety and other features for automotive applications. Learn more in this MIPI blog post.

          Development Completed               on A-PHY v1.1

MIPI A-PHY℠ v1.1, the next version of the automotive serializer-deserializer (SerDes) physical-layer interface, has completed development and is expected to be adopted later this month. Version 1.1 will double the maximum available downlink data rate from 16 Gigabits per second (Gbps) to 32 Gbps and include other enhancements to help automotive OEMs and their suppliers implement high-performance image sensors and displays in next-generation vehicles. Earlier this year, A-PHY v1.0 was adopted by IEEE as IEEE 2977-2021.

Foundational, Cross-Industry Standards and Resources Collection on DER

The electric utility industry traces its roots to the launch of the world’s first centralized power plant in 1882, Thomas Edison’s Pearl Street Station, located in the financial district of New York City was one of the earliest, albeit small, centralized electricity generation and distribution systems. But while the centralized power plant model became the dominant electricity delivery model and has served the world well for nearly 140 years, it is changing as the utility industry and the entire energy production, transmission, and distribution system undergo a fundamental transformation.
