Congratulations to Brianna Gaston for being the first Mini-Grant recipient of the school year! Brianna graduated from EIU with her degree in elementary education in 2021, and now she is a 5th grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary School in Charleston, IL. She plans on using the grant to improve her classroom environment for her students in a project called Home Sweet Classroom. Thank you for being a rural educator! MAT Special Education ProgramThe Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Special Education Program is currently in development. Once completed, the MAT in Special Education will be a fully online program. To enroll in the program, applicants will be required to have a bachelor's degree. The program will take one year online to complete. Once finished with the program students will leave with an MA in Teaching and initial licensure in LSB1. Once the MAT in Special Education program is finished with development and approved, more information will be provided.
