So, for this month's newsletter to our colleagues and general dental practitioners in Nottingham and beyond, we want to continue the discussion around collaboration and meeting up and trying to fix problems, trying to be a little bit better and trying to enjoy our dentistry and our careers a little bit more than we do already.

Soon, we will be launching our prospectus for free-to-access and team events for 2025.

This year, we have more than 21 opportunities to come to TCC, learn, socialise, and share the good bits and the bad bits with other people, all of us being in the same boat.

We're planning to provide another six peer review meetings, which have now evolved and developed into team-based meetings, where you can bring any of your team members with you for content that can just enhance, inspire, and make things a little bit better.

There will be six of those meetings next year, and as always, they're supported by our dental buying group and Wrights.

And so, with the dental buying group, you get the CPD provided paid for the chance to meet up and collaborate with other practitioners, and if you are part of the buying Group, you also get extraordinary preferential discounts on your Wrights account as a result of just being in the group.

There is no obligation to buy from Wrights, no obligation to buy everything from Wrights, just an opportunity and a chance to be in a group together where you can bring your team to peer review events with some extraordinary speakers and learn how to make your practice and your care a little bit better.

We will also be hosting 10 Dentistry Live events, as we've done for the past few years.

This is the opportunity to watch live dentistry being carried out at The Campbell Clinic in the academy through our audiovisual setup.

This may be endodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, restorative dentistry or any manner of procedures.

Historically, these have just been streamed live, but now we intend to have an audience in place to watch live and interact with the speaker before and after the event.

This really is a fantastic way to see dentistry being provided live by people who are experts in their craft and who can always teach all of us anything to improve our practice.

On top of these 16 events, we'll be hosting five ITI study clubs.
Our recent ITI study club with Minesh from f:ocus Photography was one of the most successful study clubs we have ever had, with over 40 people in attendance.

It may well be that we decide to invite him back to do a peer review meeting, and we'll keep you updated with this, but the ITI study clubs provide the opportunity to collaborate on implant dentistry and other topics with extraordinary speakers and a really engaged and motivated group of people.

If you haven't been to one before, you can attend two free of charge before considering joining the ITI. The prospectus will list all of the topics that will be included in this project.

On top of these 21 face-to-face events at the clinic, we'll also be having some social events like the invitation to some of our referring dentists to come to the pantomime with their families that we did on Friday last week and other events such as our Learning from Failure Conference, which will return next year and our short TED-style conference which will also be returning next year after a break since before we built the practice.

All of these events are aimed at our local colleagues to give them a chance to get together, learn, socialise, and share the best bits and the worst bits.

We hope that in this diverse group of meetings, there's something for you and your team to allow you to come and spend some time with us.

In other news, at the practice, we're building a project now to bring CEREC back into the practice not only for our general dental patients but, in particular, for our endodontic team to allow us the opportunity to provide same-day crowns on root treated teeth, which I have long believed is the gold standard for posterior root canal treatment and the ability to seal a root canal as well as you possibly can on the same day.

You'll hear much more about this going forward, but both Matt and Nilesh are looking forward to the opportunity to have CEREC available to provide seals for patients on the same day.

This is a project that we started previously but was disrupted and interrupted by the building of the practice.

It's coming back, and we plan to count it carefully to publish the outcomes and to be able to teach this to other practitioners to show them the way forward with the same-day endodontic crown seal using CEREC.

It's exciting times; much is going on both in education and clinically at The Campbell Clinic and Campbell Academy, but it's heading towards that time of year, when generally dentistry closes down for at least a week, and everyone can recharge their batteries and have a proper break.

These newsletters will be returning in February, as I will be having my annual break in January, which has come to be traditional for me over the last few years.

I look forward to seeing you again soon.

If you need anything, though, just hit reply to this email, and it will come straight back to me.

We're happy to answer any questions or talk about any of this; it would be great to hear from you!

Happy Christmas to you and your family!
