Tuesday Edition
Well, good morning, and happy Tuesday, folks! How are we all feeling this morning? We hope you’re feeling excited as we are because we have a ton of stuff waiting for you to dig into.
But, before we get into the swing of things, we'd like to apologise for the Trivia error in Saturday's newsletter. For those who don't remember, the question was, "What is the driest place on Earth?" And the answer we gave was the Atacama desert. The Atacama Desert is the world's driest warm desert, receiving less than 1 mm of precipitation per year, and some areas haven't seen a drop of rain in more than 500 years. However, there is one place on Earth that is even drier: the McMurdo Dry Valleys in Antarctica, which haven't seen rain in nearly 2 million years. This region receives no precipitation and covers an area of 4,800 square kilometres with almost no water, ice, or snow. A big thank you to member Jackie for pointing out the error! We will do our best not to make the same mistake again (but remember, we are only human!)
Now, let’s get to the answer to yesterday’s riddle. So let’s jog our memory and take a look at exactly what it was!
Although she is still quite young, Babs was becoming increasingly shy about her age. When a friend inquired on her birthday to see how old she was, Babs replied with: "It's a number of years of which one half, one quarter and one seventh added to 3, equals itself." How old is Babs?
Did you get it? The answer is 28! This was a tough riddle that took us back to our equation days in high school maths class. 'It's a number of years of which one half, one quarter and one seventh added to 3, equals itself' can be rewritten in mathematical notation as (1/2 * x) + (1/4 * x) + (1/7 * x) + 3 = x. Half of 28 (14), plus a quarter of 28 (7), plus a seventh of 28 (4) is 25, plus an additional 3 equals 28, so Babs is 28 years old. If you managed to crack this one, then give yourself a pat on the back, and head further down in the email, and you’ll spot a well-deserved shoutout waiting for you.

Who remembers these cough drops and lollies? Irish moss gum had to be one of our favourite cough drops to suck on back in the day. Sadly, Allen's stopped producing it about 14 years ago. Which one is your favourite?

Today's stunning photo is thanks to member @kramx. They posted this photo in our photography forum with the caption, "A friend of mine's but worth sharing." Well, your friend was lucky enough to witness this beautiful phenomenon. We just looked up double rainbows and discovered an interesting fact that we’d love to
share with you all. Did you know that in a double rainbow, the second bow’s colour pattern is always the reverse of the first bow? How interesting is that? Can you spot it in the photo?

At an auction held at Christie’s New York in 2016 during a contemporary art event, Salvator Mundi by Leonardo da Vinci turned into the most expensive painting ever sold, selling for $450 million at the end of a nineteen-minute bidding war. The winning bidder would later be revealed to be Saudi Arabia’s Prince. The painting portrays Christ holding an orb in one hand and forming the sign of the cross with the other.
