California’s Golden State Pathways Program presents an unprecedented opportunity to empower more students to access postsecondary education or gainful employment in industries that align with local labor market needs.

Golden State Pathways provides $500M in investments designed to support college and career readiness for ALL students to ensure that California thrives economically and socially.

Braiding the Golden State Pathway dollars with other state funds will create a powerful synergy for improving college and career readiness efforts within communities by building pathways that offer increased opportunities for collaboration among stakeholders and promote inclusive growth.

“I have a passion for educating today’s students for their futures and by providing each student with their 10-year Plan—a reason to stay in school combined with researched career opportunities for these students to be successful. I have taken students to the next level of being prepared after graduation,” explained Rosson. 

Rosson has become a Career Choices champion, serving as a Mentor Teacher and training other teachers using the Get Focused Stay Focused curriculum, spreading her vast experience and successes in the program.

“Lompoc High School has successfully taught the course, which we call Career and College Readiness, to all freshmen for the last several years,” said Rosson. “Our results have shown a decrease of missed days and an increase of graduation percentages.”

She’s spot on. According to GreatSchools, Lompoc places higher than the California State Average in SAT and ACT college readiness and has a graduation rate 4% higher than the state average.
