Christmas celebrations in the community

Christmas is just around the corner, and it's been wonderful to see the festive events that have been happening across Stockport:

  • It was another busy day at Offerton Community Centre for their annual Christmas ‘Shindig’! Around 80 guests enjoyed a Christmas meal, a nativity performance from local school Dial Park Primary, and lots of singing and dancing.
  • Thanks to funding from Aico, the Independent Living team have been able to provide a free Christmas lunch at three of our sheltered schemes, with 17 people attending at Oak Tree Court.
  • Residents at Russell Gardens have been getting stuck into some festive crafts, including making their own Christmas wreaths.

Noise complaints - here's what counts as ASB

Everyday sounds such as children playing, lawnmowers, hoovering or DIY during reasonable hours are not examples of ASB.

However, persistent loud music late at night, shouting, and repeated disruptive behaviour are all common incidents of anti-social behaviour.

A top tip is to talk to your neighbour first - most issues can be solved with a friendly chat if you feel safe to do so. If not, you can report noise nuisance to the Safer Neighbourhood team on 0161 217 6016.
