Thursday Edition
Good morning members! How is everyone on this fine Thursday morning? Or maybe the morning is long gone for you, and you're having a nice evening read after dinner. Either or, there's no bad time for a cuppa and a read of the SDC newsletter eh? Speaking of time, today it’s of the essence as we have a mountain of great stuff for you lot.
Now let’s start off with something we’re sure you are all very eager to hear: the answer to yesterday’s riddle. For those who don’t remember what it was, let's take a quick gander.
I was born in March, but my birthday is in July. How come?
This was a tricky one eh? Well it seems it wasn’t for all of you though! The answer is they were born in the village of March, Cambridgeshire, in the month of July. As long as you identified that March was the place of birth, you got that one correct! And you know what that means folks? You get a shoutout! Further down in the newsletter you’ll find a shoutout with your name on it!
Now, next up on our Thursday agenda is our Fascinating Fact. This one is bloody brilliant!
How good is brunch? A nice extra snack, perhaps spent with friends, family and loved ones. It’s become quite the popular pastime. However, did you know that it was actually invented with a purpose, and no, not just for an excuse to eat a little bit more (no excuses needed there)! In fact, brunch was designed as a way to help recover from hangovers! The concept of brunch was formulated in 1895 by an English writer named Frank Behringer, who suggested after a wild night, waking up early is a pain. Brunch allows everyone to recall the events of the night prior and rejuvenate themselves. Sounds like a pretty practical meal don't you think?

A woman, cranky because her husband was late coming home again, decided to leave a note, saying, “I’ve had enough and have left you…don’t bother coming after me.”
Then she hid under the bed to see his reaction.
After a short while, the husband comes home, and she could hear him in the kitchen before he comes into the bedroom.
