Strategic Planning for the Neighbourhood House
It's time for us to update our strategic plan and we're looking for community members who want to help us shape the future direction of the House.
We want to do more than just put on a heap of activities. The aim of neighbourhood houses is to undertake community development programs or activities that lead to community strengthening and addressing community needs. We can only achieve this with your help.
If you're interested in having a say or just helping us plan our future, please let us know via the button. It may involve participation in a survey, a group discussion or a planning day.
Volunteer Engagement Coordinator
This year, we've employed a Volunteer Engagement and Capacity Building Coordinator - Adelae Bowen, who will be working with us until September to build our volunteer program. You will probably see her around the House. Please make Adelae welcome.
We have volunteering opportunities across a range of areas, including marketing & promotions, events, program support, office admin, etc. Time commitment can be as little as one hour per week.
We're taking food donations
Thanks to State Government funding, we have been able to purchase a dedicated fridge and cupboard for a small local food bank.
If you have any surplus food you would like to donate, please drop it off at the House.
Container Deposit Scheme Fundraiser
We are now a donation partner with the Container Deposit Scheme. Our aim is to raise funds towards Goonawarra Food Relief.
Be sure to put your empty cans and bottles to good use to help us raise funds. Scan the barcode or use the donor ID when making your deposit.
Playground Upgrade
Thanks to a State Government grant, we are able to fund a significant upgrade to our outdoor playground. New equipment will be installed during the school holidays and ready for term 2.
