Kia ora, It may be a new year, but it's the same Your Waterfront with a packed summer schedule for you to enjoy. This January, two more Silo Cinema sessions will take place, and there will be an interactive iSpy installation dotted across the waterfront for you to try your On Queens Wharf a number of interactive activities and workshops are planned, all free, and varied so there will be something to suit everyone's interests. Ngā mihi The Your Waterfront Team Flugtag takes off in Wynyard QuarterCongratulations to all participants of this year's Red Bull Flugtag that took place on 10 December in Wynyard Quarter. Especially the winning team 'Red Barron and Snoopy' who impressed the judges and crowds by flying a fantastic 47 metres! Some teams weren't as successful with executing their flight plan, and as Woody from Toy Story would have put it, "That wasn't flying, that was falling with style", but regardless they sure made up for their lack of distance by providing miles of entertainment. Silo Cinema screenings start at 9:00pm, but the Silo Park Bar along with entertainment and food trucks will be kicking off from 5:00pm. Find out more about what's planned by heading to the Silo Park website below. Queens WharfSoak in the sunshine this summer with the highly anticipated return of Summer on Queens Wharf. On offer over the next two months is a kete full of summery goodness with free workshops, activities and events that are good for the mind, body, and planet. The all-ages programme runs through to 22 February 2023 with a vibrant mix of yoga, dance and a series of upbeat, sustainability-focused workshops. Don't forget some of the activities like the Sunrise Yoga and Morning Rave have a capacity limit - so make sure you sign up to get a spot. Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta 30 January, 9:00am - 5:00pm, Auckland Waterfront Celebrate the anniversary of the City of Sails as hundreds of vessels take to the water under sail, steam and paddle power in one of the world’s biggest - and most historic - one-day regattas. Auckland International Buskers Festival From 12:00pm daily, 27 - 30 January, Auckland City Centre and Waterfront The 23rd annual Auckland International Buskers Festival makes its return with a programme boasting street artists from across the globe. Taking place over Auckland Anniversary Weekend, the festival will enliven Auckland’s city streets, and street artists will delight and entertain crowds with their perfected performances. Performances start from 12:00 pm daily across five festival sites, including special night shows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Market Square, Viaduct Harbour from 7.30 pm. Plane Sailing Festival 2:00pm - 10:30pm, 6 January, Victoria Park, Auckland Plane Sailing Festival returns to Victoria Park on Friday 6 January 2023 with a lineup of musical talent including 10x Grammy nominee superstar Diplo.
