Remember Derwent pencils? Back in the day, they were on many children's birthdays and Christmas "Wish Lists." Derwent pencils were the pinnacle of high-quality coloured pencils, and everyone wanted them. I remember the thrill of opening a box of Derwent pencils and seeing the wonderful array of 72 coloured pencils, all beautifully arranged in three tiers and carefully colour coded. Who here still uses them today?

Gummy bears weren’t always called that way. From the very beginning, when gummy bears surfaced in 1922, they were called Dancing Bears. Riegel created a bear-shaped gummy candy from the get-go, but he took inspiration from a popular German tradition of training bears to tumble, dance, or do tricks. The practise was eventually banned but lived on through Riegel's confections.
