Dear colleagues and friends, Summer holidays are getting closer, but the war and the crises of this world are not taking a break. We all feel that times have gotten harder. Some of our member institutions are exposed to increasing pressure from their governments disregarding and restricting European values, such as the freedom of research and teaching and the autonomy of universities, as happened recently at the Liszt Academy in Budapest. AEC will keep a close eye on further developments and stay committed to empowering its member institutions to live up to these values. For now, we wish and hope that, despite circumstances, you will have the chance to enjoy some relaxing time accompanied by a both inspiring and enjoyable reading of the AEC newsletter.
