Flare disposal awarenessThis summer, we've seen far too many flares ending up in household bins, putting our waste collection workers and recycling plant staff at risk. Flares are explosives and should never go in the rubbish bin. Need to dispose of expired flares safely? Contact your local police station to find the nearest drop-off point. Sturt Police Station accepts flares between 9 am to 9 pm, 7 days a week. Seal expired flares in a heavy plastic bag or spark-proof wooden container before dropping them off.
