We are excited to announce that Siibii will be performing at FNHPA’s Conference!

Siibii is a Montreal-based queer, trans non-binary, Indigenous songwriter creating emotionally charged, genre-fluid pop rooted in identity, ancestry, and self-acceptance. Named after the Cree word for “river,” Siibii channels ever-flowing intention and imagination into electronic grooves and luminous vocals.

Their self-titled debut EP Siibii (2025) earned widespread acclaim, a CBC Music Top 100 placement, and three sold-out release shows in Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal. With over three million streams and breakout track “YOY,” Siibii is quickly emerging as one of Canada’s most compelling new voices.

Launch of the Career Pathways Enhancement Project

The First Nations Housing Professionals Association (FNHPA) is launching a national initiative to better understand the career journeys of staff working in First Nations on-reserve housing. This project aims to identify the skills, experiences, supports, and opportunities that contribute to successful careers in the sector.

The findings will be used to develop practical resources, including career pathway frameworks, career mapping tools, workforce development guidance, and outreach materials to help attract, develop, and retain housing staff across First Nations communities. Research will be conducted by Boreala Management.

How You Can Contribute?

We are looking for housing staff to share their experiences through:

A brief survey
Individual interviews
Focus groups

Housing managers, directors, and community leaders are encouraged to share this opportunity with staff and colleagues who may have valuable insights to contribute. The success of this project depends on hearing from a broad range of housing roles and experiences.

Online WHMIS Training Certificate

Offered to all FNHPA members for free, the online WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) training is Canada’s system for keeping workers informed about hazardous products in the workplace. It helps employees recognize risks and learn how to handle materials
safely.

This training, which is done at your pace, is perfect for those who work with or who may be exposed to hazardous substances. WHMIS is based on the Globally Harmonized System (GHS), which standardizes chemical classification, labeling, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to improve workplace safety.
